passion for greeting cards

MY PASSION FOR MAKING GREETING CARDS

From my childhood days, I have a passion for creating hand made crafts . I think I got this passion from my grandmother who loves crafting and weaving more than anything in this world. I am always curious to learn creative things from her. She is 93 years now, still if she finds something interesting, she learns it. We used to learn from her during our summer holidays and now my daughter is learning from her too. Last year, she showed us how to make a woolen hand bag.

I still remember the first ever greeting card I made for my friend in my ninth grade with a big golden bow in a pale white cardstock for her birthday. Then I made more cards during my undergraduation in Home science.Once I made 24 cards for my friend for her birthday as her birthday is on 24th november and each and every card was made using different techniques. It was so much fun to make a smile on a friend's face and get a little special hug everyday. I am a permanant visitor to hallmark cards and love collecting funny cards and sentimental cards with very good words. I have a sack full of cards which my friends and family gave me for different occassions too. After my undergraduation, I didn't make any greeting cards and was busy with my studies and went for job but never ever stopped visiting hallmark cards.

When my kid was three years, I started collecting punching machines for her from stationery shops, just to cheer her up ,I used to give a small greeting card to her everyday when she comes out of nursery. Then I slowly built up buying my crafting tools for almost four years like stamps, knife, cutting mat, papers, scoring board etc., etc.,

With the gentle push from my friends who encouraged me to make it as a small business , I started making birthday cards , anniversary cards, festival cards, thank you cards, etc., When Easter comes it'll be a year since I started making greeting cards and selling. Now I made a year round of cards for almost all occassions and hope to learn more techniques to make more beautiful cards in the forthcoming year.
